Hi RattlerGUNZ & WELCOME! :D

Thats a nice older Craftsman machine! Looks like an HM80 Tecumseh powers it and should hold 26 ounces of 5w30 oil. Synthetic is a good choice since it flows well at cold temps.

As for the manual, good luck. Many fellow Canadians cannot find any for their Sears blowers either. Many of us have attempted to find them & always come up empty...

Thanks Marty, So a bottle of 1 liter of SAE 5w30 synthetic oil would be good then. The cheapest make or Mobil 1? Plus up here in Canada we get DEEP COLD temps.
I've been hunting for the manual since last year when I bought this snowblower,no luck :(

I don't know about Canada but down here the oil manufacturers can wave some synthetic fairy dust over the dino barrel and then label it syhthetic oil. Don't ask me why, a judge told them they could. So it is hard to pick an oil down here. I try and stick with a name who's reputation could suffer if some oil a trucker, or some other extended drain interval person, sent for analysis came back funny. I like Redline, Amsoil, and in a pinch Mobil1. The machine looks like a Murray to my not so good eye. Briggs has bought Murray and some support can be spotty. You might try sending Murray of Canada an email. The manual for the engine used to be available here http://www.cpdonline.com/692509.pdf she is a biggie, so let it load. If you have specific questions some of the people here have or have had similar machines and may be able to help until you can get a manual.

RattlerGUNZ...

1 quart of "expensive" full-synthetic oil is a good choice...

I run it in all my OPE... all start easier than with convential oil...
