Just heard that our 38th president passed away on Tuesday. He was 93!

I remember my parents MAKING me watch his inauguration into office after Nixon resigned. God I feel old...

He certainly had a lot of major issues to deal with when he came into office. Vietnam, the White House in shambles, oil shortages, and the like.

I'm glad that he was the one who ended up being President, as he wasn't elected by a "political machine", and essentially Took hold of the rudder to steer our "National ship" into a safe port when we needed it most.

Although he didn't do things like "putting man in space", "win the cold war", or any of the other "great accomplishments" that others can boast; his willingness to take the helm in stormy waters speaks greatly for the person he was.

God was certainly watching over us back then; and I have no doubt that he is watching over Gerald Ford now.

He was a great man.

I found it interesting that he passed up an opportunity to play in the NFL (Packers or Lions) in favor of a political career. He was a patriot, and helped pull the country together.

Gerald Ford was the most athletic American President in history

Golf

Football

Swimming

Baseball

Acrobatics

Please forgive the humor...a great, humble man who always served our nation admirably when called upon. God Bless him.

He was the right man for the right time.
Seemed right to the end he played his cards carefully.
