My brother received a little Murray single stage blower model no G20301. Serial no is 006295340508 and code is 6264.
How can he tell what age it is and what engine it uses without taking the cover off? Thanks.

I heard that at one time, Snapper was making a lot of the Murray blowers..
You could try emailing them and see if they can come up with an age for his machine.

The engine numbers might be of help to those that know, might get you close anyway. I guess it would be nice to find a link to how to break down the engine numbers. If anyone has a link please post it here so we can add it to the helpful links thread. Thanks in advance!

Is it a Tecumseh?
Find the DOM code on the engine. It will read something like.....03188BC0010
In this example, the 03 is the year of manufacturer and the 188 is the day of year. The 188th day of 2003.
Unless snow engines are different?

Thanks. I'll tell hin to take the cover off then to get the engine numbers. Was looking around the net and it is a Tec engine based on what we read.

Patrick - my guess is its a 1986 or 1996 model by the 6264 code, with the first 6 being the year, 264 being the day of the year...
