I wrote my final examination for my truck and transport mechanic's license this past Saturday They told us we would see results in the mail in the next 2-3 weeks....I didn't think I did too hot so I wasn't looking forward to it. Much to my surprise I got my test results today and I passed!!... :P I needed a 70% and I got a 73%. It was 135 questions and pretty hard from my view. I've seen some of the other I.P. exam questions and they were a cake walk compared to the test we saw last weekend....I had already written and passed my MVI license tests so I can get that as soon as I get my Inter-Provincial certificate in the mail.....I see a raise in my near future $$$$ :D :D :D

It won't really affect my daily work, it will give me a pay raise and allow me to sign/place MVI stickers on the windshield. I'll also be able to sign for other apprentices in their log book. In my city a T&T tech with a license is worth his weight in gold. Most tech's around here are leaving for the Alberta oil patch and bigger money so the rest of us that stay are not looking for work to say the least. Some shops are offering signing bonuses to get guys to junmp ship and others are paying their own techs to recruit their buddies....I'm just glad it's over, it took me 4-1/2 years to reach this point and 9500hrs of work....I only needed 8000hrs to write the exam.

Way to go BRT! Nice to get that out of the way before the holiday. I hate those multiple choice tests that are "choose the best answer". All the answers are correct but you need to pick the one someone else thinks is best. Glad you did well BRT. Now I know who to ask if my little 5.9 CTD has a problem.

Yup, it's nice to have it done with. I wasn't thinking about it much - that wasn't gonna change the results in my favor. ....But I guess I didn't need to worry, I just made it...LOL
5.9 cum-a-part eh....The only time I see one of those it's usually in an old freightshaker and it's grossly overweight for that tiny engine.....I do mean grossly, most can barely get out of there own way when empty let alone loaded...LOL...We just found out we are going to be a Cummins dealer again - they are going to start putting the small Cummins in the F-liner M2 chassis's instead of the C7 and C9 Cat's.
