I inherited a used Honda Lawnmower from my parents. This baby is mint but needs a little TLC. I bought new head and cover gaskets for the engine GXV120. Can anybody provide me with the proper torque settings for the head bolts. Not sure if the head cover bolts require specific torque settings. If so, please provide...

Best regards,
Agape

i don't have any idea. New head? Like the thing with the valves in it? Or just the thing that covers the valves? The thing with the one bolt in the center of it?

Hi Agape & WELCOME! :D

I looked around a bit & could not find any torque specs for a Honda GXV120 engine, which is what your mower has powering it.

However, knowing that you are sealing an aluminum head to an aluminum block, I feel fairly safe telling you to torque it to 15 foot/lbs. Tecumseh spec is 16.5 foot/lbs, with similar materials mating - so 15 should be a good, safe figure to shoot for. If the gasket seeps any oil after the engine is running again, snug it up to 17 foot/lbs.
