Well my new digital camera arrived today (Kodak EasyShare C533) and so far I'm loving it. I took a few pictures of the car, but was most impressed with how well it takes "close up" shots compared to my old and slowly getting dated, Sony DSC-P50.
Here's a picture of the hood ornament, you can see in the reflection the power lines that over head (look like scratches) and the trees, clouds, thumbnail, click to enlarge:

PhotoBucket by default resizes, with the way I have it set, but you can still see the quality of the image.
Another feature is Video with sound, my old camera didn't have sound, so that means you guys are in for a treat, my currently, "holy" muffler makes this baby sound like an old small block:

I'm not sure how to "embed" the video in my post or if I can.
<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wo1Vf4rw_TU"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wo1Vf4rw_TU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>
So combine this with the Milwaukee Sawzall I'm getting for Christmas and I'm a happy camper.

Good Deal! :vg:
Ahh yes, it feels great to buy a new digital camera doesn't? Then you find out that you need a larger flash card, priceless. How much memory you got on that thing now and how much more do you think you will need in the future? Mine came with no card at all and I bought a 1GIG SD memory card for $20.00
You got to review that camera for us once you have used all the features and figured out the camera!
It seems to take great pictures by the looks of your posted pic there, keep up the good work

I believe it comes with 24mb of internal and I currently have a 1GB Card. On the black friday Circuit City Sale my brother and father (while I was sleeping) went there and stood in line for awhile and got 7 of them, the one-day special mail in rebate made them free or 2 bucks so they gave me one :)
That gives me, on max settings, just under a half hour of video or over 750 pictures...so I don't think I'll be needing more any time soon...unless I really go nuts at autoshows or something :)

And we know you will hehe haha hehe
Thats cool that you are able to take that many snapshots, your video length alright considering its not a camcorder like mine. I can record up to 2 hours of video or 100's of pics at 3504*2632 resolution or 1000's at 1024*768 resolution.
Make sure to take plenty of pics of the wife and kids, or someday you will wish you had!

I'll remember that when I have a wife and kids.

thanks dave, smoking tires another day maybe :)
Here's a quick shot of the Tree outside I decorated :) This thing does good even with low lite :)

The Rechargeable battery I bought on the other hand isn't so good, wasn't outside for more than a moment when it started to lose power. Termy any suggestions, was thinking of getting one of these:

Currently I have this:

Which I found out later isn't really a true rechargeable CRV3.
edit: doh forget to put in the picture links :P

I like this one http://www.thomas-distributing.com/mpc-c301.htm
Its a true Lithum Ion battery and its rated for at least 1000 chargings and its a great price! You can't go wrong! And your right, Energiser is a joke man, forget them! :ng:
PS: Good camera, picks up light sources well in total darkness!

Thanks, all this rain rather than snow we've been having nicely removed all the salt, might have to get it a good spray before the weather turns again.

Egreen, we have that camera at work (and my daughter is getting this for Xmas) and find that it is a great work horse. I purchased the daughters at Target on black Friday for $98. I purchased a 2GB card on ebay so number of pictures held will not be a problem. What I found, is if you buy the Kodak Ni-MH battery charger kit. It comes with two rechargeable packs (2AA each) that will recharge in 2.5 hrs. These batteries last forever with heavy flash use. The kit also has a case to hold all of the stuff. This kit runs about $40.

thanks for the suggestion BBWB, I'll look into it, NiMh batteries seem to perform really bad in cold weather so I was thinking of getting a lithiums which supposidly aren't as affected by temp.
Now since the Lithiums hold charges for such a long time I was thinking of possibly getting one for a back up if the others didn't work. I think the NiMh I have started to lose charge from running that AF motor or what not more so than the cold, guess it really drains power quick. Most of my pictures will probibly not need high flash or the AF motor, so I'll give the energizer a trial run a the family Christmas gathering.

Yep,
Nickel Metal Hydride suck in cold weather, Nickel Cadmium are better than they are for cold. Lithium's a really nice and work good in cold weather! They tend to give total performance through their whole charge instead of draining off and becoming less powerful. Might not mean as much in a camera but are great for things like a cordless drill. They also don't loose a charge like the other two do, also the 5th charge is the same as the 50th. BE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT CHARGER FOR THE BATTERY

I've been eying the Milwaukee V Series of Lithium power tools, I'm in need of a circular saw so that could be a good choice, but when it comes to power tools I like being able to plug them in for tools like that.
