Well you know how it was years ago. They replaced all the propane tanks with those new ones with the so-called safety’s on them. Right.......... Anyway, it took us this many years after they did the switch before we bought one. This time it was a necessity because if the power goes out, we need propane to run the grill for both heat and for cooking!

It's a overfill protection device, along with a pressure relief on the hand valve.

You guys need to understand, all of our heaters run on electricity so how are they supposed to run with no power? And we do not have any of those kersene heaters either, how we supposed to buy those if you don't have money to afford them? I seen them go for 100 or more a pop... All of our cooking appliances are also electric and they won't run without power. So the only option is to take what you do have and use that. If you think that I am saying we fire up the grill in the house, your are sadly mistaken. No, we put the grill in the shop which has a ventalated area so we don't sufficate and thats where we fire it up. We will warm ourselves while we cook on it. Such as making coffee or fying breakfest or baking something. Its not a regular BQ grill, its a Red Devil Cooker, capable of frying, grilling, baking, steaming, and who knows what else lol.

And generators, although how much I know that we need one, we can not afford one as they are expensive. Plus you would have to get your house wirred for a device like that. I am not complaining by any means, I am just telling you guys the facts. This is what we have always done years ago when the power went out. By the way, that grill makes a mean pot of coffee! We still have the older style coffee pot for on the stove so thats how we make coffee.

Termy. I got ya beat.
We still have one of the old style tanks on our grill. We don't cook on it that often, but enough that it should go dead any time. It just seems like the endless tank of gas.

Be careful using that stove for heat.

Thanks for your concern but as I said, we have plenty of ventilation, we will be fine, we always had been when doing it many times before.
