When did the ads start on our homepage? Never saw them until today.

Wind,
We're starting to put some ads on here to help gain money towards a new dedicated server. The one we're on now is shared with many others and we're reaching our limit. The downside to that is not good. The other downside is that none of us mods are in the position flip the bill for the whole thing so we're hoping some ad's may help us out.
Soon, we'll also be providing a way to make donations and even be a sponsor of the site.
Details will come.

You got to do what you got to do Marshall. I am happy just as long as we don't get greedy like Abbysguide. Frankly, I would really like for our site to run off of its own server. Do you guys realise how much faster the site would operate? It could support many more people doing many more things. a++++ to Marshall & Ramit :wink:

We still have time, but we want to be in a position to do the upgrade just when it's needed.

I wondered how this site kept going. It wouldn't be right for the mods to have to foot the bill. A little advertising money will help, and being able to make donations is good too.

Termy, thank you, but I will say that all the mods and admin are in on the discussions and debates and coming up with ideas.

Yeah, I had noticed them too, but I was busy working on some courses and didn't get chance to comment. At first I thought I was seeing things. But good deal, if it helps pay the bills, why not?

To All,
Google keeps track of all sorts of things with the Ads,
So if you do see something that is helpful to you, by all means click on it.
BUT please don't think it's a favor to go hog wild clicking on all the links, Google will black list us faster than you can blink.

I have seen many sites who have advertisments on board, heck, mine has ads! Ads bring revenue because running a server and or a site is not cheap. So I don't think its wrong to have ads, as far as I'm concerned, ads are in everyday life wherever you go. :wink:
