Hot Milk Buns

¾ cup lukewarm milk
2 tsp. Sugar
1 envelope yeast
2 tbs. Shortening
¾ tsp. Salt
1¾ - 2 cups flour
¼ cup melted butter

Directions:
Mix the milk, sugar and yeast. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in shortening and salt. Add flour to make soft dough. Knead slightly and roll into an 8” square. Place in square pan. Press out edges. Cut into 16 pieces as you would cut a cake. Pour ¼ cup melted butter over the top. Let butter run into cuts. Cover, let rise 45 minutes. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes. Serve hot. Especially good with chowders & soups. Tastes like roll-biscuit combined. Delish!
