Ok, lets face it, having to clear snow is a pain in the rump.... but do you concider it a chore or do you enjoy it and pray for more?
I personaly concider my beast a time/labour saving device and don't actualy get joy out of the task (other then the joy of a clear drive).
Joy is where my snowmobile comes into play :)

I also enjoy clearing away the white...but I don't pray for more. If a storm misses this area, I'm just as happy. It has been a year now since our last significant storm (see "almost perfect storm") and during that time there has been nothing more than an occasional flurry. Never in my lifetime have I seen a Jan-Feb-Mar without white but I did in 2006. When the next storm comes I will try to stay home for a day because even now as I type this the idots are flying down the 2-lane road in front of my house at 65. I just **know** they will still be trying to drive like it's summertime.

I don't pray for snow anymore...personally I'm happy if it's just cold with an occasional dusting or two. After 2 knee surgeries and athritis in my shoulders and back(years of carpentry and assorted tackle football games :) ) I can probably live without it...
But there is a personal satisfaction with "clearing a path out".. or my driveway..sort of like a nice lawn after you're done. I think it's also about just operating the machinery for me VS "doing" the actual chore, if that makes any sense.
That said..I don't know if I'd want to do it for a living.

When I had a shovel I could sometimes do without more in the forcast, as long as I have a blower I am happy-happy-happy!
One thing I can't live without is wood for the fireplace... (it really ticks off the wife when I start cutting up the furniture, but boy, does dry wood ever light easily! )

I love snow. The more the merrier. I usually (not always though) do the shovelling part while the other half does the snowblowing or plowing (whichever machine he feels like playing with at the time). The only part I really don't like is the bundling up. It usually takes more time to get ready then it does to do the shovelling.

PS - Walt, I love the 'stang in your avatar, I think it would be something to see.

Thanks Sherri. It is a concept car that was made by 2 italian designers putting a "European flare" on the new Mustang. It was unvieled this week at the L.A. car show. Here is the link about the car.

I'm in love, but my wallet is unfortunately dry... (wife again)

I voted work! I enjoy using machinery a LOT more than a shovel, but in my advanced years (50) I find the cold bothers me more than it used to. Might be the old frostbite injuries that hurt, plus the arthritis, plus the extra poundage I'm carrying, but I'd be happier to live somewhere that does not see 2 foot dumps of snow ever again. Somplace that gets a dusting once or twice a year would be great..... although Hawaii wouldn't be too bad either.

I was looking at a 2005 that just might have been in my buget range, but everyone shot me down. I have no place to store it out of the winter and because of that, I'm 'stangless. (well actually not, I have one that seen better days, but I just can't let her go). When I win my millions, I will have a whole fleet of Mustangs, right from '64 to whatever year it may be then. I may skip the early to mid 70's as they aren't my favorites, but I'll start up again at about '78. Now all I have to do is remember to buy lottery tickets.
