A thick peice of ice messed with the Gilson's right angle gear drive. I picked this up at the "curb" store 3 years ago, and with a few improvements, it has worked great. I put new wheels on it and extended the oil drain to make changes easier.

Looks like I will need two new horizontal output shaft bushings. Anyone know the numbers and a source? Are they generic so I can get them at my local shop?

Manuals seem non-existant. Any source for an exploded diagram with part numbers? I believe it is a Peerless right angle drive. Best source for parts, if available?

I use the Gilson many times every year and it's one man portable. It's great!

Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum.

The folks in the know should chime in soon enough.

But in the mean time, one of our members has a GREAT , the best, Gilson snow blower site on the web.

http://home.gwi.net/~spectrum/snowblower.html

you can surf over there and do some browsing.

Lots of links and resources.

Thanks. I was happy to find the Gilson site when I was looking to replace the broken wheels. Found something that looked like my machine and found out what I really had. I actully have a Ward's branded machine. It's very maneuverable and throws snow far enough. Wider wheels from surplusstore.com gives it a better stance.

The bushings for the horizontal shaft in the blower right angle drive look to still be available.

Gilson # 33471 is now LawnBoy/Toro 701013. ABout $16 at your local lawnBoy dealer.

As always get the dealer to confirm these numbers.
