Yep,
We're under a blizzard warning. 2 inches of snow per hours with an estimation of up to 15-20 inches and wind gusts to 45MPH. It's nasty out there, 16 degrees right now. Maybe I can get some pics later.
It's heading North East, get ready.

Just saw it on the weather channel.. Tulsa 4-6" and a few feet of visibility.
Geez, it was ~65 degs here today, and the sun wasn't even shinning.
Been cloudy, getting lots of heavy rain tomorrow.
The sun is down, the windows and doors are open and it's 70degs in my little office.
Getting real freeky weather patterns.

Chris,
Thanks you sir, I'll take you up on that at double the price.
Snow isn't too rare, we usually get 2-3 decent snows a year. Decent being 3-4 inches. A lot of ice though, more so than snow. I think this is the first official Blizzard warning we have been issued, at least than I can ever remember.
I've broomed the car windows a few times to try to keep from having a ton to remove in the morning at 5:00 am. This morning I had to deal with a thick layer of ice. It's nice to have it this cold now, cold enough to where the snow doesn't hit, melt, freeze later and then pile up.
The biggest problem we have here are two things, drivers that are clueless and the lack of enough snow removal equipment to clear the roads right. But damn, I'll take it all day long! :)
It is strange though, I'm probably the only one on the forum besides Will that doesn't have a snowblower, and the only one that needs one.
Date: 30 Nov 2006 6:54 pm
It should be by me in 7 hours. Supposed to pick up 8-15" here. Not good timing for my Friday morning commute!!
Date: 30 Nov 2006 7:03 pm
ah well ...
way up here in snowshoveler land it was 16 degrees celcius today.
thats about 60 degrees in the good old USA.
we have had no winter yet.
has its good points and bad points.

Bill,
I was thinking of you when The Weather Channel had the Chicago reporters on the tube. Yep, you're going to get nailed too. It'll give that bad boy Avalanche of yours something to do.
Date: 30 Nov 2006 7:23 pm
It was in the mid 60s here in CT today. I was sweating! STRANGE! It's almost December... and I've not even needed to wear a hat yet. I've only had to scrape frost off the car maybe 4 times.
Date: 30 Nov 2006 7:33 pm
I must have checked the Tulsa radar 6 times today. Course I checked Cinncinatti once or twice also. Hope the Purple Birds do well toinght. Speaking of birds, a good snow in is the one of the best times for some quality time.
if you all get 20 inches and most make it to work you guys are better than us here in MD. We drive like we all lost our minds at once too but we do have removal equipment. Still 20 inches would about shut us down.
Date: 30 Nov 2006 7:37 pm
Marshall, your going to get allot of snow, I sure hope you at least post pictures. Maybe your wife can take pics of you using your snowblower this year, I have no doubt you will be using it! :D
Pictures are awesome and worth 1000 words!
Video is awesometastic and worth millions!

Do they even sell snowblowers in OK?

Marshall, you can borrow Termy's snow shovel. :D

AZ, good question, I haven't a clue. Probably not.
mrmom, LOL. :)
Termy, I'll try to get some pics in the morning after it's done it's thing.

Marshall, I thought of you today when I saw that the center of the storm was around Oklahoma City. You guys don't normally get winter storms like that! Do you want to borrow my snowblower? :P By the way, the storm is heading our way now.... 9 - 14 inches on Friday!

Dave,
Thanks for the thoughts my friend. Do you deliver?
Get ready for it, it has plenty of moisture and wind in it.

This afternoon I was deer hunting on Wurtsboro mountain, north, just over the Orange county line. Overcast and around 63 degrees. I only had a t-shirt under my scentlok coat. :)

So Marshal, not even thinking about a single stage blower?
Dan, we have had balmy weather too on the Island.
I was in NJ for the morning for work, windows open on the jeep, great day for a drive. Just would have been nicer if the sun was out.
The forecast has us clear into next week. Haven't heard about the weather hitting us yet.
Date: 30 Nov 2006 9:55 pm
Marshall, I plan to snow blow my way down to Ok. Lets see, I can take I43 south to I55 south, then I44 west to Tulsu. That way I can clear out Illinois and Missouri on the way!
By the way, Paula doesn't have a snowblower either, but she likes to shovel :?
Date: 30 Nov 2006 10:02 pm
Gee Marshal...By your own admission you don't get too much snow; I would suggest you watch Termy's video on how to use a snow shovel.
Today we went into a cold spell...3 degrees F this morning and highs into the low 20's. Winter is here.

Marshall,
Just for the fun of it I checked for Ariens and Toro dealers that sell snowblowers in OK... nope none to be found. However if you head to Texas they have some Toro snowthrower dealers.
That system is headed our way and will collide with a cold front...we are supposed to get freezing rain :cussing: Hate that stuff... along with snow and ice pellets... joy, joy. Should be a law banning freezing rain, and rain after mid November... snow only.

Bob,
I could have used a two stage this morning. First thing out of the box this morning, besides trying to get my dog to take a crap in snow deeper than she is tall, was pushing cars that got stuck going down the only street there is to get out of my neighborhood so I could make it to work. Geeze, what a pain in the azz! One dude just could not understand that flooring it doesn't work. I told him over and over and over and finally got it his car myself and drove it down the road.
bbw,
Snow shovel? Real men don't need a snow shovel, they have the women do it. Right Paula?
Dave,
Where ya been, I've been telling everyone about you!!! :?
Wind,
See there, dumb azz Texans. :P

OTO, your just evil minded at times!!!
Dog's not used to a cold belly ?
First big snow for her?
yea Marshal, I get them like that in sand and snow, they just don't get it.
Worst is when it's my winch cable they threaten to wrap around their tire by running it over. I"ll just leave 'em if they don't listen.
2nd worst is the "soccer mom" on the beach with the "team" of kids with her SUV swearing she aired down , I check 50psi. Air 'em down and drive it out. The soccer moms just get pissed cause they they have to "get air" now. The dudes , their jaws just drop and they finally believe you have to air down. Never mind ripping up their SUV, they're ripping up -MY- beach.
On a few occassions I'd come across a dude that was honestly trying and did air down - but stuck. I'd find the air gauge was soo off, they'd been running around 25% - 40% higher pressures then thought.

Boy, I'm glad I live in sunny Buffalo area, where I've had short sleeve shirts on outside all week.........almost hit the 70's....... :D
We had our big storm in October.....
It is getting colder today, with high winds and flurries......I'm taking the wifey to Florida next week for eight days of R&R.......hoping it gets snowy here first so I can feel like I'm escaping something.......
Marshall, stay safe and enjoy!!

LOL Actually I drove it down the street and far enough off the road to where I could get by. Did he make it out after that? Probably

Some snow pics............
A wll outside that's about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall.

It say 12 inches

I can't get my foot to the ground, it packs under me.

With the wind blowing as hard as it did, the trees still got quite a bit on them, and after a day of melt.

And of course no respectable Sooner would not have an upside down Longhorn tag.

Oh yea, and an original 1962 East German Makarov I picked up a few weeks back.

Date: 1 Dec 2006 5:39 pm
We got 13 inches by noon today. My brother who lives in Sedalia Mo got 17 inches! The snowblower came through like a champ 8) Next stop, Marshall's house!
Date: 1 Dec 2006 5:43 pm
Nice pics Marshall

Man you guys are killing me...
We're 65degs, windy a little rain, not even a cold wind.
Like Windy said...

That's funny.
If someone had said they got 4 inches of new lawn overnight, we'd pity them, but when they get 8 inches of snow, we say "you lucky dog, get to fire up the blower".
I'll be pickling the lawn mower tomorrow.
Thankgoodness.
Nice addition Marshall.
9mm?
Date: 1 Dec 2006 6:47 pm
Thanks,
9X18 Makarov. It's in between 9X19 (9mm Luger Parabellum) and 9X17 (380 ACP)
There are Russian made Mak's, Bularian made and China made but the East German made Mak's are the finest craftsmanship. Real tough to find in that kind of shape too, I got lucky. I have a new original East German grip and a Russian grip with a red star on it too. But the rubber Peirce grip shown is better for shooting.
Dave,
I missed your post, sorry bout that. Wow, you got nailed too. Damn, a snowblower sure would have been fun to use. I'm sure it won't be long before you get to use it again Dave.
Date: 1 Dec 2006 8:36 pm
Great pics Marshall, I sure do appreciate you posting them!
Looks like you got the same amount of snow we did in allot of areas. But the snow drifts we had were atrocious!

I like the grip, nicely designed.
My first thought was 380 (stuby 9mm), looked like it, but said, geez for a German piece from the 60's thought most likely 9mm. Never knew of the 9x18.
Talk about splitting hairs.. 9x17, 9x18, and 9x19! Geez.
I see you have ammo, easy to get?
DA?
Most guns are like most planes.. a plane that looks good flys well (as long as they are built well).
Date: 2 Dec 2006 12:32 am
Bob,
A shop by me carries the 9mm Mak in HP and Ball both. The Hornady hollow points are pretty expensive but no more so than any premium 9mm ammo. You can pick up cheap stuff though over the net. I won't shoot it enough for it to be an issue either way. I bought it more to just have and keep. Yes, it's DA/SA.

Marshall,
As you probably know already. Makarovs are AWSOME sidearms! I'd love to get one of each at some time (I have a Curio and Relics FFL).
Pretty much any mass produced military sidearm is going to perform pretty well. Just think of the testing they have gone through!
Congrats onthe Mak, it's a SWEET one!

Thanks VR. It's a real nice gun, not a rust spot on it and 100% of it's bluing, just a minor wear place on the muzzle. I would like to aquire a C&R lisence.
