Herb Biscuits
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
4 tsp. Baking powder
1 tsp. salt or to taste
2 tsp. Celery seeds
1 tsp. Paprika
1 tbs. Chopped parsley
¼ tsp. Dried leaf thyme
½ tsp. Dried leaf marjoram
¼ cup shortening (can use margarine)
¾ to 1 cup milk
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, celery seeds and paprika into a bowl. Add parsley, thyme and marjoram and stir lightly with a fork. Add shortening or margarine and cut in finely. Stir in enough milk with a fork to make soft puffy dough. Use one ¾” cookie cutter. Bake in 350°F oven for approximately 25 minutes.
Yields: 16 or 17 biscuits.
