IF anyone is willing to learn some OPE repair skills, they are free to bring their machine here to Freehold NJ & I'll supervise a repair.

I had been thinking about this for a while as I have no children, nor do I have any nephews or relatives that are interested in this type of stuff. I want to share my info & knowledge with someone, so the offer is out there if anyone is interested...

Great idea, Marty. :)
Management tried something similiar a couple of years ago.
They put up a glass partition between the showroom and the shop so that people could watch me work on thier machines.
They had too close it down though....
People kept tapping on the glass and they got tired of washing off the feces on my side of the glass.

Marty that's a great idea. I like to think that I do my part, but start with a younger age. I was a 4-H member and now am a leader. I'm leader of the small engine project in our club. Why not try a local kids organization and see if they have a spot for OPE? Nothing like starting young!

Very nice thing to do Marty.

Wish my nephew lived near you. He's 17 and wants to be a small engine mechanic. Been a good solid worker on all the summer and part-time summer jobs he's had.

They should have cut holes in the glass, so the people could toss you peanuts as a treat.

I'll definitely take you up on that offer when the time comes Marty. Thanks.

Thanks all - indeed, just trying to give something back.

I'm ALWAYS working on something here as you all know, so you don't even have to bring a project as there are always PLENTY of them here! Just have the will to learn & get your hands dirty.

Be prepared for greasy hands & busted knuckles though - its part of the deal. Its good for your soul...

Thanks Marty, I'll let you know if I have the time. I guess I don't live too far away, just the next state.

Very generous offer Marty.
I wish I had your talents to make the old, look and run new again.
Maybe you could give me lessons on which wire goes where on a battery.

I usually work mornings after 9am Wednesday thru Saturday.

Good deal on the old Simplicity. I may have mine sold too (twin #2)

What a great offer -- just wish I lived nearby. I took my snowblower to a guy who worked out of his back shed and he essentially did the same by heving me help him. As a result, when I got it home and found it needed more adjusting, I had a good idea how to proceed and I did with the thing working like a new one. If only more people would be willing to share their expertise.
