In Washington State we rarely get snow despite what people think. The reason for this is because we get the warm southern winds. So as you can see, when we do receive snow, its a miracle!
Snow Winter!

Hey guys, click on the link bellow to read the write up I did about it...
Snowy Winter

That's pretty cool Termy!
Enjoy it while it lasts. It will probably melt soon. Go have a neighborhood snowball fight.
Guess you didn't take the scooter out to see how well it handles in the snow.
Date: 26 Nov 2006 7:43 pm
Thanks but I already did! I got my snow cannon out and shot snowballs at the kids walking down the street. That was some real fun sh**

Mine is like that accept mine is made of metal and uses compressed air as the catalyst for shooting snow balls. :D

Too much Termy..
Your right I always think about Washington state getting snow.
It's one of the few states I haven't been to.
Are they calling for a white Christmas by you?
Date: 26 Nov 2006 9:57 pm
It better be a white Christmas or else! LOL
Here are some pics that I took today...

Date: 26 Nov 2006 10:04 pm

Date: 26 Nov 2006 11:48 pm

Well, go to that website and allot of them have detailed pictures showing how to build one. The one I have was made for me by a guy that no longer lives in this state, miss that dude. He knew allot about plumbing and pneumatics!

Hope the snow sticks around for you. All we're looking at in Nova Scotia is rain.

Wow looks to be really drifty, can the Toro mower blow snow? :P
Date: 27 Nov 2006 9:40 am
Termy-
So... are you gonna invest in a snowblower??..
maybe a single stage, at least! :D

Same here

Termy,
You can't use your Toro recycler on that snow... at least not until you've prepped the snow.
Imagine a snowflake....you know its has all those pointy sides. When they fall from the sky nice and slow like, they have time to line up so that the points lock together forming strong flake-to-flake bonds when they land on the ground.
What you need to do is break up those bonds by running over the snow with your dethatcher. That will loosen it all up. Then run the mower over it and it should mulch it nicely. With 10 inches of snow and 30 inch drifts set your mower on its highest setting and do multiple mulching runs, or maybe invest in larger diameter wheels for those first passes.
Your neighbors will be amazed at how resourceful you are... they'll be amazed for sure.
Then get out the shovel and make snowbanks...and you'll be finished with the snow.

I think we should debate this a bit. Weigh off the pros and cons of single versus two stage.. for that once in a 23 year big snowfall like Termy just went through, he could use a two stage... preferably the biggest he can buy.. and then upgrade the engine by at least 50 to 100% in HP. Then maybe add turbo and nitrous for that really wet dense snow that might fall. I'd hate to see Termy tackling some tough conditions with an inadequate machine.
I would like others to chime in and help Termy get the best snowblower for his buck.
Date: 27 Nov 2006 2:01 pm
Highwind, your too kind... LOL :D
Yep, me and my bro were talking about this very thing yesterday. We both agreed that its days like yesterday that warrent purchasing a snowblower. But the chances of getting this much snow over and over again are so remote that if I got a snowblower, it would be a used one off ebay or something. Heck I even work on these engines, I'm sure I can get a no runner and get her runnen real quick. LOL :D

Hey guys, look what happened just over the night!

Date: 27 Nov 2006 3:10 pm
Oh man, your missing out on some serious snowblowing fun!
Date: 27 Nov 2006 3:11 pm
WOW! That looks awesome! You may want to look at cleaning some of the snow off the roof though.

Nice pictures Termy. Beautiful artwork mother nature did.
Those snow overhangs would be fun to knock down, right after we toss snowballs to see who can break off the most icicles.
Darn it Termy, you are getting some early winter fun out there.
Date: 27 Nov 2006 9:54 pm
Wow Termy...this looks like something that should happen in Minnesota!
Why not package up some of that snow and send it out to all of us to use.
Tonight, we are getting freezing rain with snow over the top. Not any accumulation yet, but the road sure are slick. I however did get to use my new single stage blower once about 3 weeks ago, and hope that this will pile up so I can use again.
I would bet that your city is pretty much at a standstill seeing as snow is a rare occurance.

Now if you got a snowblower, would you do Alta? Errr... ahhh.... I mean her driveway?
Do we have pic of her on this forum somewhere?
Date: 28 Nov 2006 3:14 am
Termy, you are lucky to be getting snow like that. We're about due for some here. If you do package it up and send some over here, maybe your storm will follow it over here. Those drifts are atrocious.

Thanks Jeff  I have enough snow outside to keep all your food cold in your fridge. I also have enough snow for those moments where you just feel that a kid needs to hit the ground and taste the snow!

I can smell the gas now.

Nope... And your nuts!
Date: 28 Nov 2006 10:01 pm
OK, me and my brother decided that we needed to knock that snow off the roof and shovel the snow off the steps. The way we did this is halarious and makes for a good comical video. Everybody should watch it! Your supposed to use a snow shovel right?
A Snowy Pain In The Rear

Yes, a very good adventurous and well put together video. For the entertainment we have Termy.
Date: 29 Nov 2006 5:42 am
Termy,
Thanks for the video. And while you are out frolicking... Never eat the yellow snow! :)

Bravo Termy,
A well made video.
Ahhh.. someday I expect to see you up for an Academy Award... for either "snowtime comedy" or "daytime snow drama". Wondering if you were about to be buried in an avalanche or the shovel was going through the bay window.
BTW, if you find that job to be a pain in the a$$, then you are doing something wrong. Mostly I get a cold, wet neck or back. If it gets you in the butt, then tighten your belt so the snow doesn't go down that far.
Date: 29 Nov 2006 1:04 pm
well done Termy, I have to admit, I was cringing and waiting for the shovel to make contact with the window.
I wonder if it looked closer than it really was.
Every swing, I was waiting.
Date: 29 Nov 2006 3:06 pm
Thanks a bunch for the comments guys! Ya, after some of you were complaining about not enough action in my last camcorder video, I decided to show you what action really was, Close to breaking sh** And you got to admit, the video was funny too...LOL
Date: 30 Nov 2006 1:26 am
Yeah, the swinging was quite heavy.

Nice job on the video Termy! :vg:
but trust me on this one..ok...

metal shovel + picture window, divided by 20 degree weather = disaster!! :D
Date: 2 Dec 2006 11:34 am
Termy!!! Don't be cheap buy yourself an electric power shovel! They are small and would save you a lot of @$$ breaking... It would have cut right through that stuff!
I have one as a back up for the simplicity and for doing the steps..

Looking at that picture, don't you think its highly possible that I might strike the glass window? Well, if I don't strike it with the shovel, I will surely knock a piece of hard ice into it later.
