If i go here "Viewing profile :: HG" and click on "Find all posts by HG" i get this "No topics or posts met your search criteria" cant find the posts i made???

It's a bug in phpBB software.
I see that all of our two character members have the same problem.
We have LL with ~45 posts and JS with none and HG with ~155.
It was identified just before the new year.
The past bug reports seems to say it's fixed, but haven't found the fix yet and there's no link to a fix on the bug report.
Left a message on the support board asking for the script fix.

Ok.
There is no fix. It's still broken and will be addressed in 3.0 .
Which maybe out this spring.
So for now I need to change the usernames to a three letter username.
HG, what would you like for a 3rd letter?
I'll have to change it for you and see how the database likes it.
Before I change it make sure you print out or copy and past any PM's you want to save. You may loose them.
Or send them to a trusted user to hold for you , who then could forward them back to you when we have it tweaked and finished.

I had wondered about that as I seen it when I wanted to find something he had said and I couldn't remember where it was. But that was just after the crash and I didn't think twice about it.

So we are left with,..
HG, what would you like for a 3rd letter? or be it a number, or something completelty different, but I would go for a 3rd letter only to keep it close to the same.. not change it completely.

Make it look like this HGK,but i hope this dont screws everything up,if you change my name,will all the posts i have done be there on HG or will they move to HGK

If it doesnt stick to the posts I'll have to do a lot of work to fix the posts.
But it can be done. The posts themselve rely on your user ID number , not your name. The PM are encrypted as to ownership, so I believe PM's will be lost if they depend both on user ID number and name.. hence my warning to save some how, all your PM that you want to save.
I probably will do it till tonight, which means you should have already counted your sheep and are fast asleep.
Just some how save all your PMs that you must have due to a link or contact info or something. You can view each on, copy and past onto a text file to save to your PC.. or forward all to a trusted member for them to forward back to you.

I PMd both LL and JS.
LL replied and LL is now lland , two down and 1 to go.
We will have to watch new members and contact them and I'll have to make the change till we change to V 3.0 . When ever that comes out.
I'm going to try and find where in the registration template I can place a warning of 3 characters or more.

All the pm's that i dident save is still there,but there should be like an warning on that join page for ppl not to join up with only two letters name,to stop this from happen again.

There is a warning now. We didn't know till you , that it was a problem.
There's no fix for it yet either.
They are waiting got a major revision. like 3.0 that is suppose to be coming.
I worked on adding a warning last night.
So for now, it took a bit but I found out where the register template was and that place for the username during registration, and added a warning.
I had no way to tell if your PMs would have burned away or not, so it was just a bit of cautious thinking to plan ahead.But it seems they didn't, cool.

It took a *bit* of searching, but figured it out.
Yes I saw that and smiled, worth the effort.
I hope other new members follow direction as well as the newest member did !
