EOD heavy and high no matter what. You know that crazy lake effect snow around Buffalo, NY. Would a Toro 726/6000 do the job? I like the start guarantee on the R*Tec. Its got a nice price too. I know most say 8HP minimum for 2-stage. 141cc sounds real small. No shortage of these. Share the same fuel as my Toro Single Stage. I know the owners of them love them (AZ really likes his) but I'm not sure they are in the same snow accumulations. All no B.S. ,I don't mean Briggs and Stratton, opinions welcome :P

Just posting this so not to totally hijack the other thread. Since the dealer doesn't have my (erm father's) money yet we are still free to shop around if we feel so inclined.

I saw this 2 days ago but decided to wait before adding my 2 cents....so here it is:

"Would a Toro 726/6000 do the job?"

As I recall, your old Hahn-Eclipse was also a 7hp machine...am I right? If so then I would expect the Toro to do at least as well. Only you can decide if that is good enough.

"Its got a nice price too."

How much is it? I went to my dealer today and saw that the price was $949, in stock.

"I know the owners of them love them (AZ really likes his)"

Really...do you know other owners besides me? If yes, please invite them to the forum.

In all fairness, I like my machine and have recommended it to others in my area for the snow we get here. But I don't mean to act as a cheerleader for Toro at the expense of other brands. It's far more important for the buyer to get a machine he is satisfied with. But if you can't get the one you originally wanted (for whatever reason), you should have a second or third choice lined up that you can live with. A secondary choice is certainly better than pining away waiting for something that may never come.
