I just had to share this with you folks...it made me want to laugh and cry at the same time, at how beautiful my daughter is.
I received homemade gifts from my girls, which they know is my favorite, but my youngest this year also gave me some paper scrolls, tied to an ornament, with the following "gifts" written on them:
1. Be nice to my sister day (even if I don't want to). (When I read this out loud, my oldest asked if she had to be nice back...and Peanut (my nickname for her) said "Noooooo....but it would be nice if you would."
2. Don't whine (only for a day).
3. Free clean room (even if I don't want to)
4. Free breakfast (eggs & coffee).
5. Backrub (anywhere!)
6. No TV, video games for a day (only a day)
7. Servent day (do whatever you like)
I thought these were so funny (she was specific on each scroll that it was ONLY FOR A DAY!) and yet so beautiful at the same time.
Marshall said it best...I am truly blessed in my two daughters.

Really sweet girls you have there Paula.
Nice of her to think of those special gifts for you and smart of her to stipulate that they are only good for a day. Doesn't want you to expect that behavior all the time, does she.

I think those may just be the bestest gifts a child can give. I remember giving them to my parents and grandparents when I was younger. I'd write little certificates for picking the veggies in the garden without eating them all, car washes, vacuuming, and so on. They really got a kick out of it and I can't remember them ever using any. :D
