So i just bought a used craftsman cheap. It runs but needs some TLC.
I was able to determine that its a 5hp Tecumseh engine so i am not to worried about finding info on that although if anyone has info on what models may have been used that will be helpful. Does this have an alternator?
The problem i am having is finding owners manual, in particular an exploded view with part numbers, etc. Sears has a part number of 62519 for the owners manual but says that it is no longer available. I was able to determine that this was made by AMF but because of Murray, being bought that has not been any help. The only other number I found was on the engine: 143735012-SER-3336B. I am not sure if this is a sears, amf, or Tecumseh number.
I have done google searches with limited results
Thanks for any help.

Your 143735012 is a Sears engine model number, which translates to a Tecumseh engine model HS50-67220E. It does not have an alternator.
As for an owners manual, check Ebay. I do have a few early Sears snowblower manuals but unfortunately I don't have one for your model. If you can post a pic I might be able to give you a rough idea of the machine's age...

Thanks for the info. I have been watching Ebay but nothing yet.
Any idea on the spark plug number and gap?
I am trying to get this thing running better.

Adam,
I think it is an Champion RJ17LM or an Autolite 245!!
Take your old one out, go to a NAPA auto parts shop and match it!!
Gap 30 thousands.
