This fellow has a nice website with many photos of old /classic and obscure mowers. If you are interested in machines that cut grass from the 1920's thru the 1960's, this is definitely worth checking out:

I wonder how many of them still worked? The reel mower/bicycle looked cool. The little tricycle/reel mower's a hoot. Yeah, take the kids back and forth on the front lawn. Exercise and cut grass at the same time.

Yes, I agree he has one mighty impressive collection, but I am into moddern OPE though. I just don't like the points and condencer, they were never reliable, allways had to be replaced. With moddern solid state ignition, you rarely ever change that coil if ever!

Joe - thanks for posting the link! That guy has some real neat, vintage OPE. Years ago I had a little Sears rider very similar to 4hp he has, except mine was 5hp. It had a one speed foward, one speed reverse transmission. My dad drove me to pick it up as I didn't have my license yet! I remember spending DAYS attempting to remove the engine pulley...

I guess I have 3 favorites. The tricycle reel mower, the little aquamarine scooter jobbie, and the Pioneer electric.
