Don't know where else to post this but my time is off everytime I log in. The only way I've figured out to fix it so far is to go to my profile which asks me to log in again then resubmit the info. Anyone elese having problems or is this just a glitch with the new site?

When you go to your profile you adjust your time plus of minus GMT. It's down near the bottom somewhere. I think you would be minus 7.

Just keep playing with it until it makes sense. This is what I had to do. Takes a minute.

I'm on the east coast and using GMT-5 and getting the correc time.

When you come to the forum and NOT logged in, it will show you a default time, until you logged, then it forum applies the correction in your profile.

The default time is in GMT.

GMT stands for ..
Greenwich Time.
or
Greenwich Mean Time
or
Greenwich Meridian Time

They needed someplace, some time zone as the zero hour..... that all other time zones are referenced to. GMT refers to the city/town of Greenwich England where the observatory is.

So based on how many time zones your either to the west of the east of it, you add or subtract that many hours.

Since I'm in the EST time zone, it's 5 time zones to the west, so I have to subtract 5 hours, or GMT-5 in the profile.

So since anyone from around the world could access such a forum, these forums normally are based on GMT and the user puts in their differential so all the times are adjusted accordingly for that user.
All the times are stored on the forum's database at GMT.

Here's a rough time zone map..
