Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours Al. I'd love to wake up Christmas morning and see all that beautiful snow hanging in the trees and the sun sparkling. But wait, hold up here a second, if I wake up Christmas morning and see the snow hanging in the trees like that - the odds are we aren't going to have any power. So maybe I'll go with the poinsettias  :D .

:) Yes we have honey bees 22 colonies at the present time.  Not sure if we keep them or they keep us since they do keep us busy. They are scattered thru out the county right now but we may take in two counties next summer.
We want to double at least what we have now next spring. could bee with a few swarms caught we may end up with 50 or more this time next year.
Our back yard.

One of the two in our front yard.

The honey house.

Seeing the honey house in it's entirerty makes me appreciate a lot more now. I've seen the pictures of you building it and I thought it was impressive then, but WOW, it turned out really nice.

That is so neat Al.
Do you sell your honey wholesale or retail? I've heard that raw honey can help with allergies...but that you should buy it from the area it is created in...because of the local pollens collected by the bees which is supposed to create an immunity to them?

:D Thanks for all the nice commets. The honey house isn't really finished yet as the track covers I had to make myself as the only color the steel one came in was white. I got them made but didn't get them stained before the cold weather set in. Also still need to do the floor because it got to cold for that too.
Eatting raw honey :?: The medical community has found NO proof that it helps. I have heard some people say it does so why argue it don't. I found that getting my summer stings does help fight off all the other bug bites like from spiders and the like. I know I sure enjoy what start out as just saving a colony of bees from a tree I started to cut up for fire wood.
We sell our honey to another local bee keeper and sell some to friends and their friends. BUT that will probably change in the coming year when we have more than what we can sell localy.
  I love winter and would hate to live where we didn't get snow. I get so *##$$#%&%$#$#$#$^ at the people who live here and complain about it. Same for the idots on TV (week end local team) who are always whining. Sent so many letters they must have blocked my e mail and now won't answer the phone either. Its Michigan, it snows in the winter live with it or move. We have been in the teens and low 20's for about 3 weeks, we are going to have a warm up starting Thursday with a chance of freezeing rain on Saturday or/both Sunday too. Now Freezing rain does make me a raving mad man.

Your pashion for honey bees interests me because you never get bitten or stung. Is this because of the experiance you have being around bees or are you just not prone to being stung or bitten? Also, I would like to see pics of the inside of the honey bee house, that house looks pretty cool but I really would like to see it from the inside.

Never did say I never got stung, I said::::: I found that getting my summer stings does help fight off all the other bug bites, like from spiders and the like.
I also said the honey house wasn't really finished due to the cold temps.::::::: Also still need to do the floor because it got to cold for that too.
There fore there is nothing inside but a few feeder pails, hive bodies, the unstained track covers, some door trim and boxes of honey jars we just bought.

I could live with that beautiful Minnesota front yard view.
The snow in the pines I posted is our front yard too. Our house is 400 feet off the road which I hid with plantings of Lilacs, dogwood bushes and White Pine & White Spruce trees.
