Because snowblower last 20 years in most cases, finding parts gives headaches too. I know a guy not too far from here. This guy is awesome, he's selling old snowblower parts in a flea market outside in the parking lot at -12C Can you believe that? I got from him many parts like crankshaft for 15$ carb cover 3$ coil for 20$ etc. The funniest thing, thoses old machine that he is selling started in one pull :) like he said: a good piston in a good head makes my bred.
Have a good night everyone

A good piston in a good head makes my bred. I like that statement.
Sounds like you scored Bobby! :) Carbs go for 80 to 120 bucks. Crankshafts usually go for over 100 bucks. Coils go for anywhere from 40 to 80 bucks.
Oh ya, and my Toro mower has a 1 pull start garentee too hehe. I love these Quantom engines!

No this guy is not a dealer at all he's a poor guy who try to make a living
so please think before you speak pal.

I believe that Buttlint was referring to the difficulty that Murray dealers (bought out by Briggs) are having getting parts. So if you could sort of see the likeness of a 20 years old machine and a Murray machine now, you may understand it.

Add to the fact that if it is true that MTD will be building for Toro now and it makes the already muddy water even worse.
Good for him. A lot of great old machines out there that need a little help.
Bobby you forget Buttlint's sense of humor. Gave me a chuckle. Job security for the guy down the road lol.... ...8)

That's what I love about my old Gilson machine, everything is so simple mechanically I can repair anything without much fuss. Next fall I'm going to tear it down completely, blast/paint everything and replace all the worn out stuff. It needs a few bearings, bushings, a drive axle, friction wheel and an impeller. The axle is bent/beat so I'll make a new one, as for the bushings - if I can't buy them I'll have them made at my local machine shop....I should measure up the impellar to see what size it is and start looking for one.
Ya just can't beat the old stuff for simplicity and durability. :D

Yea Lint, shup! Don't you know nuthin?
So P_Bobby, was he selling stolen parts? Parts he's accumulated over the years? Parts he's taken off his own equipment? Where does he get the parts not being a dealer or a retired dealer?

Marshall,
Yeah this guy is awesome guy he gets his parts in the garbage and in the local metal scrap yard where he buys the parts buy the pound! Is in that special? sometimes parts are rusted or very dirty but it is worth it.
