Hi,
Does anyone tip the people at the OPE dealership? I was thinking of giving the service rep and the mechanic $10 each. Is this too much, too little, or too wierd?

That would be a great idea! Earn yourself some brownie points there and maybe get yourself some better treatment when your equipment goes in again. Don't forget about the person that is at the counter :o though, I'd be honored if someone was that nice to me.

So would I  The more you show that you care about them durring the christmas season, the more they will care about you when you bring your equipment in. As some of you know, I bought a Toro 20055 last year, I gave them a huge chunk of cash, I know they were very happy about the transaction. But to keep them happy, I would buy donuts for every single one of them including cups of espresso every christmas season. This way, if I bring my equipment in, (If ever considering I do my own service work) I have the confidence in knowing that they will treat my mower as if it were their own.
PS: I would be honerd Sherri if you gave me 10 bucks. Actually, I think i'd rather have good old fashion Sherri Kiss.

So you gonna stiff your old buddy 'lint for Festivus, Termy?
A twelve pack of "Natural Lite" or "Milwaukees Best" might be nice.
Either that or I got a nice spot all picked out for one of those kisses that you are passing out for the holidays.

Well they'll have to get out the carving knife and sharpen it up. I thought giving them each 1 kiss would surfice. Go figure I never thought of that.
My dear Buttfluffiest and Termywermy, please do not fight over my kisses, 'shoveler gets a bit perturbed when I hand them out without his permission. :D This will have to be our little secret. :o

But seriously Bob.
That is very generous of you too even think of tipping your OPE guys.
But it isnt really necessary too do it.
I personally wont accept tips...I feel its my job too do the best I can for a customer. If they appreciate the service, that's the reward in itself. A simple "Thanks" is good enough for most of us.
We all try too do the best we can for the customer.....but we cant please everyone all of the time. Instead of a tip....save your good wishes for the time when the service may not be as good as you had expected.
As much as we would all like too have things run smoothly...sometimes, due too things beyond our control, (Parts backorders, volume of work, warrenty issues, and sometimes just plain screwups.) we cant always please the customer. That's when patience on the customers part is the best reward for any good service that they may have recieved in the past.
Bringing in the model numbers when you need parts, treating the kid behind the counter with adult courtsey, and giving honest answers too any questions that the wrench may ask (I had too throw the last one in. ) is really the best gift that a customer can give. Treating people with kindness and understanding, even when you are standing butthole deep in snow with a broke snowblower, is plenty for most of us and deeply appreciated by all of us. :)

That was truly hilarious...![]()
And I second that....give us our Linty back!! Right now! We know you little green men have taken him to suck all the OPE wisdom out of his brain...but, I'm warning you....if you send him back in the above condition, things are going to get ugly...![]()

I am standing right with you Paula, standing strong to get buttlint back. You know mr. green man, I got a Mazda RX-8 tricked out to the max, and it would hurt very bad when I hit you going 160 MPH. So back off before things get seriously ulgy

You guys are freakin' cold!
A guy comes down with a case of "Festivus Fever" and you're bustin his chops for being too dam sensitive with a good customer.
Dont worry....I will be fine in the morning.
I am taking large amounts of medicine (Milwaukees Best) and expect too be fully recovered in the morning, back too having a chronic headache....a low tolerence for BS, and a surley attitude toward anybody that thinks they know more than I do. :P

Lint, you're just a big ole sweetheart under that rough exterior, you can't hide that from us.

I was afraid the little green men might have gotten you for good! ![]()
And you know we love that rough, gruff, mean old man exterior...as much as we love that big marshmellow interior...

Looks like its safe to cancel that EMS call, and get the beer truck to make a run to Lint's place instead.

Blah blah...blah blah!
(A little sensitivity goes a long way.)
But the beer truck is here.....and its time too say "later" too all my Festivus Frolicking Friends, and wish them all a joyous slide down the Festivus Pole. :D
