It seems that if you can't find someone to play with you, you just have to play with yourself.
Atutally, my first thought was that it was just grooming itself of lice or something. ![]()

i was under the impression content here was more or less family rated, this is in pretty poor taste imho, and a warning should of at least been provided not to let kids see it.
MARSHALL PERHAPS YOU'D LIKE TO COME EXPLAIN THAT TO MY 7 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER? who just happened to be in the room at the time i viewed this?

I am not Marshall (obviously...) however, my understanding is that one of the reasons we left Abby's was because of the G rating. We are all adults here (see the log-in) and as such the content is aimed at adults, not children. I don't open things in front of my kids without screening them first privately....anywhere on the web unless I am very familiar with a particular website. Screening for what we want our kids (or grandkids) to see is our job...not the moderators.
Just my $.02.

with content of this nature anyone with any integrity would have provided some warning. speaking for myself were i to post content of this nature (which im not inclined to do) the proper thing to have done at least provided a note about being adult oriented. after all any parent with any sense of responsibility would assist each other in matters concerning inappropriate things for kids this age, no matter what the venue, instead of taking the attitude "not my kids so not my problem"
and if admin feels im out of line here they are most certainly welcome to remove me.

I think it is our twisted interpretation of what the animal is doing that makes it funny to us, but not to the animal or likely a zoo keeper.
It is just grooming its tummy fur. And that is what I would have told my daughter if she had asked. You try living in the bush and see if you don't pick up all kinds of biting and annoying ticks and bugs.

My assistance: This is a site for adults.
What YOU allow your granddaughter to see is YOUR responsibility...I take FULL responsibility for what I allow my kids to see, not blame others for what they see. But then again, I am an advocate of personal responsibility..
And I don't recall anywhere in my post saying (or implying "not my kids, not my problem"...I do recall saying "your granddaughter under your care, your responsibility". There is a difference.

SP,
Merry Christmas to you too.
Your granddaughter didn't see anything she wouldn't see at the zoo or in nature. I am sorry that you feel animals behaving naturally is something that you sir don't have the where-with-all to explain to your granddaughter. I will not be responsible for your lack of ability in that regard. For her sake as well as yours, I hope she never witnesses a dog licking it's balls, humping a leg or, humping another dog while in your presence because your reaction would surely embarrass her when there is no need for it.
Additionally, you are very well aware of the content on the chat forum. If I had any concern about what my granddaughter might see, as any responsible grandparent would and, if I knew I didn't feel comfortable being in the position of explaining less than G rated content, which this was not, I would read the chat section when she is not around. Your choice not to do so does not implicate me, it speaks to your judgment.
Lighten up, this is nothing that you would not see on America's Funniest Home Video's or a documentary filmed in Australia on Kangaroo behavior.
Thanks for your thoughts, I hope you enjoy the site.
Marshall

Spottedpony,
I have only know Marshall a few years, but he seems like an honest, caring person, with a pretty well founded set of morals to me.
I'm sure you were upset because your grand daughter saw something you did not want her to see. That is not my judgement to make, and I am sorry it upset you.
A couple of things I think about when I post and browse. When you sign up at almost all forums, you are agreeing that you are 13 or over. Forums are dynamic and even watched with the closest eye, things that shouldn't will get through.
You are not real likely to find nudity, profanity, threats of violence, or other things that most would find objectionable here. Are you likely to find something that would have content or a theme not recommended for a 7 year old? Yes.
Spottedpony I hope we can find some common ground here and put this behind us.
