I have a 1995 Husqvarna ride on, 38" cut, 6 speed, electric start and etc with 38 hours on it...It's mint. It has a 12HP Brigg's I/C engine, would this thing be heavy enough to push a small plow if I removed the mower deck for the winter and put on some tire chains? I'd like to use it for the light snowfalls. Are there any cheap blade kits for these things or should I make my own....Uh oh....I'm already seeing a belt driven PTO and hydraulics in my head...LOL

transmission isnt really up to that job.
no disrespect intended.
we sell the husky at the shop i work at and we dont reccomend a snow blade for any of them.
you can buy them for the larger tractor but they just dont work that well.
yours does look good, and if you continue to look after it as you have.
it should last a long time.

Years ago blew ot the hydro on my 2.5 year new Toro 38HXL movin a pretty low amount 4-5" of fairly heavy wet snow. I was p.o.'d!! I went out and bougt A big snowblower for snow, and a JD GT235 for just mowing my lawn. They tell me my JD can handle plowin', but I will not subject it to it though.

Ok, no blade it is...Just thought I'd ask the question. :D This little rig is too nice to abuse and I try to take really good care of my OPE.

Ya want a laugh Big rig?! My local Toro dealer told me(annonymosly) after this all happened that they do NOT reccomend pushin snow w/ that model tractor. I called them to ask what tractor I should consider for pushing snow. YET, they had no problem selling me weights, chains, and blade model specific for the one I had originally when the machine was 2 years old and out of warranty!! F-them. That's why I bought the JD GT235, faxxed them the receipt, along w/ my Toro 824XL I bought from alamia, sayin this and all other future business will be goin else where. You can shave a sheep many times, but skin it only once! I also created a kind of parking nightmare for them courtesy of some political friends I have. Seems they cant back up a truck anymore to their buildingas it crosses over a public easement to get to(and cannot be purchased). They have to unload it and bring it to their back door 75' away via skid and pallet or whatever else they've devised. Bottom line it was an expensive lie for them. I toot my horn and wave every day as I go by there. I also have disuaded probably over 100 people from buying from him. I make it a point to voicemail him at each occurrence, and sometimes, when it's a close acquantince, I get a copy of the sales receipt from the other place, and write"Another one bites the dust, have a splendid day!!" on top of it in broad black marker. If it was the good old days I woulda just taken him out back and showed him what I thought, but we gotta be creative these days of sueing and stuff.

Lawn tractors should be used for one thing. Cutting the lawn! and nothing else. - Kris :D
