Snowed last night, so this morning blower to the rescue. When I reached the EOD, the city plow had the usual bank. The only problem, the bank was snow/gravel mix. The main road is gravel, so the bank is gravel. Soon the impeller jammed. Hammered it out. Then, crunch, another jam. Then again ... and again etc. For one hour blowing, 20 minutes spent removing gravel jamming the impeller. Ordered the impeller kit and hope it cuts down the amount of jamming. Last week the belt got weakened by the jamming. My belt is now stretched and the auger/impeller stops easily when it gets jammed. Was tempted to call my plow guy, but all that will happen is get the gravel/snow mix plowed in a pile near the house. Took me 2.5 hours to do the driveway. Since business was very slow, had the time to do it. I like the job the snowblower does, leaves no mess, nice clean lines and no snow banks. Takes more time than plow. I am glad I didn't buy a new three thousand dollar Honda and put it through that. I'd be cringing every time i see some gravel. At least with the used Craftsman, if it dies, I am only out five hundred bucks. I hope the impeller kit helps keep the gravel getting stuck in impeller.

Drum- Make sure no one (pets too) is in the way of where your throwing that snow. Also anything (objects) you care about. A snowblower can do alot of damage when it starts throw things other than what it is meant for (snow). Be careful !! - Kris :D
