Uh, what was the deal. I love dogs and dislike Larry King anyway but you have me curious. Can you let us know without too much detail?

It was about the dog fur trade in China. They had these undercover cameras showin how they slaughter the dogs. They show some being skinned alive!! No joke one was a German Sheppard literally havin' his skin pulled off while he's alive. It was pretty barbaric to say the least. Kinda wrecked my day today for even having watched it. Figured I would save someone else the ordeal, as it kinda came on and I viewed it by accident. I really never watch Larry King dont hate him, just I dont watch really anything besides sports, so it just bores me, but this is something I wish I was warned about, and I'm a pretty calloused guy as it is.

I understand dog is a delicacy in some parts of China. But to kill them so cruelly by skinning alive is just plain sick. Why is it necessary to do it that way?

Leave it to Larry to come up with this kind of trash :evil: Must be trying to bring his ratings up.....sheesh! Many years ago I watched "Faces of Death" They showed hitting the head of a live monkey (held in place with a split leaf table that only allowed the head through the hole) with small hammers until dead, just to eat the brains....Just can't believe that other cultures do these kind of things. Made me sick to watch it!

Yeah, sounds very unpleasant to watch, and I certainly wouldn't do that to any animal while it was still alive. But I hunt, and hunting involves the killing, skinning, butchering and eating of animals. I have also spent time in third world countries where they are just as disgusted watching someone from "our culture" let a dog lick their face, especially on the mouth. These kinds of things are broadcast here ENTIRELY for their shock value. Their culture says it's ok to kill dogs like that. Not OK for us. Our culture says it's ok for someone like Madonna to sleep around with dozens (hundreds) of men and women. Not ok for them. The problems arise when one culture tries to impose itself on another (think Middle east or the former Soviet Union). I've eaten dog and worse things when it was necessary, but have no plans to do so in the forseeable future. But a Hindu would be absolutely appalled by my enjoying a good beef steak. So I guess what I'm trying to say is Larry King and his kind are just exploiting the cultural practices of other societies to shock, scare, and possibly to generate anger towards other people, when he and others should be putting their energy into bringing people together for a better understanding of each other's simularities, build some friendship, basically DO SOME GOOD for the world.

my favorite.. Sweet and Sour Pookie.
it goes on.
Pookie was about 13 when she developed a thyroid problem and refused to let me give her medication, so she eventually wasted away down to nothing and died. She now enjoys her eternal slumber in the earth outside the window where she did her sunbathing.
Oh and the other day I saw a bumper sticker that said:
I LOVE ANIMALS
THEY TASTE GREAT WHEN SEASONED PROPERLY
or something to that effect.
