Some people will just never learn to check the machine over completely BEFORE they throw a rod...

I see a project. Briggs or Honda powered please!

He probably hasnt changed the oil since it was bought in 92. How many times does somebody bring in a machine, and they havnt cheaked the oil before bringing it in. And the oil is barely touching the dipstick, is black and nasty  .

For someone who forgets or doesn't want to check their oil, they should put in a Honda GX series engine with oil alert.

It is interesting that we often have the dino vs synthetic debate, but I'd wager more engines fail from low/no oil or lack of oil change than due to using dino rather than synthetic.

When I worked for a Deere dealer, he taught me to pull the dipstick on EVERY machine I went out to pick up in front of the customer. Some folks just shouldn't be allowed near quality machinery, they don't deserve it.

When I was a kid like 16 or 17, I worked at a quickee oil change, brake, muffler shop. It wasnt a very tall ceiling in the shop, so we would have to close the hood before we raised them up, anyways, one of the other guys was workin on an oil change, and lowered the car down, as it came down to a stop, the owner of the vehicle, who had already paid(dressed up in a 3 piece suit and in a exagerated like hurry), jumped in it, and backed out and went on down the road. The other kid who was working on it, went runnin after him to no avail. We all ran outside and enjoyed a cigarette watchin him go on down the road. our boss said, "no way he'll make it past the light up there, I'll bet ya boys lunch." To our amazement he drove clear out of site. We went back in and continued working. About an hour and a half later, this schmoe comes walkin' back in lookin' like he's gonna tear this kids head off. "I wanna talk to the owner" he's screamin'. The owner came out from the back room, and said, "relax bub, if anyone should be pizzed off it's me, I bet these guys lunch ya wouldnt make it past the light a half mile up the road, ya took off w/out lettin the kid put oil in it dumb F@#K!!, guess they didnt teach ya that in business school huh?? Go on get out of here!!" The guy was just bright red in the face and walked off, never seen him again. It was hilarious!! We later found out, the guy actually made it just over 2.5 miles on no oil down a 45 mph street, Still havent figured that one out. So we all enjoyed our free pizza laughin' about this guy, and were surprised at our usual soft spoken serious as a heart attack personality boss had risen to our defense, and also shared a laugh w/ us.

Some people are as dumb as a cat! If you run a engine in something, your going to have to check the oil. If you run a engine for a long time, your going to have to change the oil. But some people like to cut corners or not inform themselves on things they need to do. Shame on you for thinking that you never needed to change the oil! :x Shame on you
