I bought this saw to replace a very old, tired, anemic Homelite Super 2. I was looking for something with more power, hence reducing my fatigue from wrestling with an underpowered saw. I also was looking for an all around saw, as this one will be my one and only. I wanted something powerful enough to drop some larger stuff and cut firewood all day, yet not so large as to be impossible to use pruning, limbing etc. This fills the bill!

I like the balance as well, it feels quite comfortable in my hands. My only negative is that it can be a little difficult to start. I have always been able to get it started but with more difficulty than I would like. Once warm, it starts quite easily. It seems like there is a "Sweet spot" to the choke, which enables easier start ups, but this spot is sometimes difficult to find.

Pros:
Power
Well balanced
Weight/Power ratio is good.

Cons:
Can be hard to start

I also own the Echo CS 4400 bought it over 1 year ago.
Got mine brand new on Ebay for 179.00 when they were selling in Home Depot for 325.00

In total agreement with Emmo with the hard cold start. I find if I close choke fully, pull twice, then open up the chokw a bit she'll start.
Once started it's good for the day. Nice saw to work with and does a good job. Just wish it would start easier.
